University of Springfield (UIS) released its 18-page "Return to the Prairie" plan for how classes will work when the fall semester starts August 24th to help prevent the spreads of COVID-19.
Some of the highlights include
Face coverings that cover both the nose and mouth are required in all common areas.
Face coverings will be required in any area where 6 foot social distancing is not possible.
Labs and Classrooms will be set up to meet social distancing guidelines.
Labs and classrooms will be cleaned and disinfected daily.
Classes will be remotely taught starting November 25 and remain that way through the end of the semester.
While students will be allowed to live on campus in either single and double occupancy residence halls, townhouses and apartments, guests are prohibited.
There will be no self service at the UIS Student Union Food Studio - though carryout will be encouraged.
Campus Health Services will provide COVID-19 testing to all students.
