If you are hoping to grab lunch at the Alamo, you better hurry. The Mexican bar/restaurant, located at 115 N. 5th Street in downtown Springfield, will stop serving lunch after Friday, July 24, 2020. )

Owner Barry Friendman told the SJR that traffic into the establishment has just taken too much of a hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic as much of the downtown workforce continues to work from home. However, he had not ruled out the possibility of lunch service coming back once the pandemic is over

In the meantime, the bar will continue to operate its regular hours - 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

So far, restaurants in downtown Springfield that have closed include Auggies Front Burner, The Feed Store, and Robbies.
