The Curve Inn announced via their Facebook page that they would be temporarily closing their doors. The restaurant located at 3219 S 6th Street in Springfield cited the stress and cost of operating under the current mitigation restrictions as the reason for the closure. They further said that the cost of operating their kitchen for carryout/curbside was too prohibitive as well.
According to their Facebook post:
Good morning I’m sure that you have heard that we have closed up shop temporarily. The constant complaints (unfounded, I might add) and health Dept visits were just to taxing on us and our staff. They (health Dept) instructed us on the next visit if all our doors outside in the beer garden were not open 50% that they will be issuing us a $500 fine. As I’m sure you can understand that’s just nearly impossible to keep heated, comfortable or even affordable. Our heat bill alone for that room runs over 1k a month.
We hope to reopen once the mitigation’s relax a bit and or there’s a few warmer days that at least allow the customers to not freeze sitting and trying to enjoy themselves, as they should, every visit.
To go / Curbside - it’s just not profitable with the size of our kitchen and would put us further in debt. It’s not completely out of the question on a few days a week in the future, but at this time it’s just not feasible.
Please send a prayer our way to our staff, for us, and to all effected by this crazy year
In the meantime please support LOCAL businesses, they need you, we need them, we all need to survive this
We will be back, promise
Be well Ami, Don, Ray Curve inn
