The first official day of classes for Sacred-Heart Griffin was August 18. By August 25, the school had confirmed two cases of COVID-19. As a result, the school is doing a deep cleaning and disinfecting of the areas that were possibly exposed.
Students, teachers, and staff are quarantining, but classes at the private school will continue.
The school has switched to a block schedule format, which will keep students in classrooms for more extended periods, having 4 classes a day instead of 8. Additionally, release times will be staggered to reduce congestion in the halls.
The school’s director of development, Jennifer Bettis, told the SJR online classes were not a feasible option.
