It seems like all we have been hearing about in 2020 is how many businesses are closing. However, Springfield will celebrate another grand opening when the new Downtown YMCA location opens on November 30.
Leading up to the opening, the YMCA has planned several events. All current and former military members can tour the facility on Veterans Days on November 11 from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
On Saturday, November 14, tours are being offered from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on National Pajama Day. The Y staff will be wearing pajamas, and visitors are encouraged to do so as well. The event will also feature snacks, drinks, and activities for the kids. The Y will also be doing giveaways- including a 6-month family membership!
The Y will again offer tours of the new facility on National Child's Day, November 20, from 4:00-6:00 pm, and on November 28 from 10 am to 3 pm.
A closing ceremony for the old downtown location is planned for November 25 at 3pm
The new downtown YMCA facility is located at northwest corner of Fourth and Carpenter streets
