The YMCA facility a the corner of 4th and Cook closed on Wednesday. Today, the brand new 87,500 square-foot facility in the Enos Park neighborhood opens.
The new facility features three group exercise studios, an 8 lane lap pool and recreational pool, an indoor track, two racquetball courts, a dedicated cycling studio, and the Precor Queenax training system. According to the Precor website, Queenax "is a flexible, modular, expandable and visually unique functional training system. Queenax has the ability to support group and circuit training on one unit." The new downtown location is just one of two YMCA facilities in the country to feature this system.
The new, state of the art facility offers a gymnastic center and a half-court gymnasium just for the kids. The Y also provides a Youth Activity Center and a Youth Tutoring Center at the new location as well.
In honor of the new facility's opening, new members may join the YMCA with a $0 joining fee through the end of December.
