More restaurants in Central Illinois have been forced to close their doors due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19

Home Plate Bar & Grill, located at 2571 S. Koke Mill Rd, was forced to close early Sunday after one of their employees tested positive. However, after a deep cleaning, Home Plate was back open for outside dining only.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, located at 5975 S. 6th, was also forced to close on Sunday. According to their corporate headquarters, they will be back open for breakfast on Tuesday morning.

Out in Glenarm, The Lucky Moon Saloon on Palm Rd will remain closed through at least July 21. This time it was a customer who had tested positive

Crows Mill Pub on Toronto Rd is closed due to COVID with plans to open on Wednesday, July 15. Mario's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria on Springfield's south side on Mansion Rd is closed as well along with the Tap Room in Chatham.

Sangamon County Health Director Gail O'Neill described the situation as "fragile" to the SJR, Dr. David Graham, senior vice president and chief quality and innovation officer for the Memorial Health System, says he feels there is a connection between the increase in the number of reported COVID cases and the state moving into the more open Phase 4.

Medical professionals are still urging people to wear masks, practice social distancing (6 feet in between people), and frequently washing your hands for at least the next 18 months.
