If you follow your favorite local bar or restaurant on social media, you may have seen posts like this one from the Corner Pub and Grill on West Iles popping up on your feed this weekend:

In his sixth executive order, the mayor is now requiring assigned seating at all restaurants and bars effective August 1. Patrons must remain in their seats unless going to or returning from the restroom or coming into or exiting the restaurant or bar. Additionally, patrons must be wearing a mask when moving about the establishment for any reason; and restaurants patrons cannot exceed the number of seats meeting social distancing guidelines available within their establishment.

Starting on August 7, inspections will start to ensure the bars and restaurants are following the order. Failure to do so could result in a $500 fine and potential, temporary suspension of an establishments liquor license.
