If you tried to register to vote over the weekend at the Illinois State Board of Elections (SBE), you might have had some issues.
The website crashed over the weekend as three times the average number of people were visiting the site. SBE officials told WICS, News Channel 20, that typically they process 5 voter registrations per minute. However, over the weekend, the website peaked at 20 registrations per minute.
Just like several weeks ago, when SBE did a registration push on Facebook, and the site crashed, the problem was rectified quickly. The site was back up and working on Monday.
Less than 50 day remain until the 2020 elections.
