There is a reason they want you to have a pilot’s license when you try to rent one. They want to be sure you know how to actually fly the thing before they give it to you.
59-year-old Richard Jordal thought that was a pretty silly stipulation. So, when the plane rental shop in Astoria, Oregon said “no” on Tuesday, Richard went back that night and stole one.
Not surprisingly, his first flight didn’t go so well. He is now in critical condition after it took Navy rescue crews 12 hours to rescue him after crashing in Olympic National Park near La Push, Washington.
