Over in France, they are on lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents are limited to traveling only about a half a mile from their homes and only for essential goods or services.

Suppose you want or need to travel further. In that case, you must fill out paperwork for an exemption and state why you need to go to that particular destination.

On Friday, Daniel Kerdraon did just that. He filled out his paperwork for an exemption so he could “smash a guy’s face in”

Not surprisingly, since they had all the relevant details, the police were waiting for him. After finding Daniel hiding behind a car parked outside his intended victim’s house, he was taken into custody.

While the police appreciated Daniel being so conscientious in filling out the form, his reason was not legally valid- so he was charged a $160 fine for violating the lockdown. He was also fined $180 for being drunk in public.

Just why he wanted to smash the guy’s face in remains a mystery.
