As a high-pressure system continues to make its way through the Central IL region. The system will bring more moisture to the area along with a slightly elevated risk of severe weather Wednesday. As we head into Wednesday afternoon and into the evening, there is a moderated chance for storms that could include hail and high winds.
But that is only half of the story. News Channel 20 is reporting another system will move through the area on Thursday. This time it will bring dangerously high temperatures and humidity. Heat index readings could be in the lower the 100s and the actual, physical temperatures in the mid 90s if the weather patterns continue on their present course.
It is recommended that people avoid strenuous activities and alcohol during this time. If you do need to go out, limit your time on the sun, wear light clothing, and be sure to drink plenty of water
